Toy Photography Workshop
Join photo artist and photographer Kevin Epling of SmallScalePics for an introduction into the exciting world of toy photography! Come learn the fundamentals of photography, such as focus, exposure, lighting, perspective, and composition, through the fun and engaging lens of toy photography! By staging and shooting pictures at a small scale, you will also practice visual story-telling as you use the provided custom-built dioramas, backdrops, scenery pieces, lighting elements, and toys to compose your scenes and create practical special effects. The skills and inspiration you acquire from this workshop can easily be continued and furthered developed at home.
Participants can bring their own camera (or smart device with a built-in camera), though each photo-station at the event will have a Library iPad with which attendees can take pictures. Attendees may also bring a favorite small toy to photograph, if desired, but it is not necessary. Several modular toy dioramas will be on display for composing scenes and photographing.
