Interested in creating your own animations but not sure where to start? Love animating and looking to meet peers who share your interest while developing new skills? Join the library's annual Youth Animation Club this fall, led by ELPL's very own Ms. Gillin and Dr. B!
Open to animators ages 8 to 13 (no previous animation experience required), this eight-week program will allow attendees to explore a variety of different techniques and resources for creating animations, including hand-drawn illustrations, stop-motion photography, and digital animation. At each session, participants will create real animated shorts that showcase their own creativity and narrative style! The final week of the program will feature the 3rd Annual ELPL Animation Film Festival, where animation club members and their invited friends and family will enjoy a screening of the club's animated creations.
Attendees need not be able to attend every session, as each meeting will be enjoyable as a self-contained activity, but it is encouraged to attend as many as possible to learn different techniques and methods.
Ages: 8 to 13
Meetings: Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm (September 24 through November 12)
Since space and materials are limited, REGISTRATION is required. Registration is free and open to the public and will secure a seat for the entire eight-week program series. Adults are welcomed to attend the program sessions with their children, but only need to register a seat for the child(ren) that will be participating.
