Learn sewing machine fundamentals in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment while transforming an old T-shirt into something fresh and expressive. We’ll cover threading, stitching, seam basics, and simple alterations before exploring creative additions like cropping, reshaping, or adding fabric details.
Participants are encouraged to bring:
• 1–2 T-shirts they’re open to experimenting with
• Any small fabric scraps, lace, or trims they’d like to incorporate
No prior experience required.
Presented in partnership with Of Her Hands:
Of Her Hands is a community-based sewing and upcycling workshop series designed to help women reconnect with their creativity, extend the life of their clothing, and build confidence through making.
Through mending, reimagining, and constructing garments from scratch, participants learn practical sewing skills while exploring sustainability, self-expression, and the power of creating with what they already have.
Slow fashion. Embracing imperfection. Skill building. Creative ownership.
