This was a good book. It was a bit slow in the beginning and it was a bit hard to make myself want to read it, but once I got a little over halfway through, it was better and I was able to finish the rest of the book in one sitting. I'm…

Had to DNF this (at least for now, may try to finish later) because I couldn't keep forcing myself to do this. I felt as if I could read this book forever. Not because it was good. Oh no. Instead, because it was so unbelievably slow, and…

This book is fantastic! Ani is an amazing heroine and her story and character development is incredibly well done. The world in this series is really well put together and the combination of fairy tale elements and magic is fantastic.

Almost done reading this series and it is very beautiful and uplifting. Shows the power one individual can have no matter who they are or where they come from. At times it makes you ache for the characters at what they go through but it…

A sad read. Never mind the ending. It's depressing, like old fairy tales. And always, the animals suffer. For the incompetence of people who are responsible for their well being. Just too many cruel, obnoxious, evil doers. Maybe I was…

It was beautifully crafted, I really have no complaints for the book and the character in it- I absolutely loved it. Unlike many romantic fantasy novels the main male lead was actually a nice guy- though I did find myself quite disgruntled…

The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale is a marvelously retold fairy tale, with modern elements of feminism, animal cruelty, and communication with nature nestled within. Perhaps the title, as well as it being in the fantasy genre, may repel some…

If you like horses, DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! What happened to the horse is so sad and honestly put me off this author. Other than that, this book was very well written, just don't read it before bed.

This has some interesting elements to it - the concept of talking to animals, to the wind, as well as the main theme of the princess, out of her element, forced to live as a commoner, a lowly goose girl, and thereby learn Important Lessons…

I’d read a few of Hale’s other books, but somehow never managed to pick up Goose Girl. Maybe the title wasn’t too appealing to me? But I am so glad I changed my mind and picked this book up! Goose Girl is an fantasy adventure full of…
