I just don’t like movies like this. I think I’m being spoon fed and told how to react. Got about 30 minutes in and had a good idea of what happened next.

Hardly worth the price of overdue fine, the credits are better than the movie (thanks, Beethoven!). Everyone did their part, it's just the story is meandering and slow.

This is now one of my favorite movies. It just shows you never know what has happened in someone's life to get them where they currently are. We all judge just what we see the first time we see someone.

I agree with all the comments, it truly is worth the time to let this soak in. Be sure to watch the extras at the end of the film, you will be impressed.

Slick but heartfelt, quirky, beautifully photographed. Downey is his usual earnest self but Foxx is just plain brilliant and really 'nails' a portrayal of mental illness. The others also bring realism to the sad situation of people close…
Well written and superb performances by Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey, Jr. Based on a true story centered on the life of an adult, homeless, talented street musician in Los Angeles. A reminder to us all about the incredible number of…

The movie helped to give me a better appreciation of mental illness and of the challenges for those who work with the homeless and mentally ill. I was inspired by Robert Gupta from the LA philharmonic on TED university to see this movie

An incredible film on mental illness. Jamie Foxx never ceases to amaze me. I could have done without the 2 slapstick jokes involving urine - they seemed so out of place in that moving film.

This film has its moments of humour and human warmth, just as I'm sure the relationship between the real Steve Lopez and Nathaniel Ayers had/has -- but I especially respect it for sticking to realistic portrayals of serious problems.…
