I think this is book 5, and is one of the best in the series. Odd Thomas goes with Annamaria to an estate named Roseland in CA. Roseland is like Heart's castle, but still in a private owners hands. No Roses grow in Roseland, but something…

A good mixture of horror, mystery, science fiction and humor that's fast-paced and entertaining. While this book reads ok as a stand alone, starting with book one in the Odd series (Odd Thomas) would provide helpful background.

It has been a while since I have read previous Odd Thomas books, but I have always retained the character in my head. Odds' humor, behavior, and commentary were always present. At the start of reading this, I quickly realized this is not…

It is Odd. Yet, the writing is a little too science fiction and Odd's humor and sharp wit are off the mark. Could it be a "ghost" writer? I tend to believe it is so. It is enjoyable, there are a few recalls of previous novels and of course…

Not as good as his first Odd books

The most entertaining of all of the "Odd Thomas" series and I've read them all, save one. Koontz' dry wit is not so dry, I caught myself chuckling constantly even in the midst of the evil, which comes in the form of spitting maids and…

I wasted my time reading this time-travel horror novel. I did, however, enjoy Koontz's excellent use of simile and metaphor throughout his story.

Unlike general consensus, I am n ot sure this one goes down as a "best" for me in the Odd Thomas series. However, there are many elements I loved coming across, some references to old characters/spooks. I particularly liked the inclusion…

Totally excellent. Best Koontz book in a while. If Odd Thomas character is new to you, treat yourself and start at the beginning of the series. You won't be sorry.

Avery good Odd Thomas book, supposedly the 5th of 7 books. After his last book, which was the hugely unpopular 77 Shadow Street, this puts Koontz back on the winning track. In this one, he and the weird pregnant girl, Annamarie, from…

I was disappointed in the last Odd Thomas novel, but with this one, Koontz is back in fine form. It's both funny and thrilling and I couldn't put it down.
