I liked this book. Several comments criticize the multiple POVs, but I listened to the book on audio, and I think it helped keep each character's voice discrete.

Told from about 150 different perspectives made it hard for me to keep straight who was talking about who. Stilted dialogue along the way but still they were relatable characters and relationships and I found myself rooting for them all by…

This book was such a slow read. I had to make myself finish reading it. Not one of Ms. Terry best reads.

Terry McMillan does it again. Some people will think that her books are formulaic in terms of plot and nearly characters. But what most people don't realized is that sometimes the best books are the ones you can come back to over and over…

Addictive and compelling. The characters all have flaws, and faults, but those are not looked past and are highlighted in a real life situation. Absolutely wonderful to read.

Painful to read: One dimensional characters, too many subplots, and possibly the worst, stilted, embarassing dialogue I've read in a long time.

Good book but not one of my favorites from Terry. I felt this book had way too much going on and too many subplots to keep up with. Not a bad book but wasn't great either.

My favorite of all Terry McMillan's books! In all her novels, especially this one, she really makes you care about her characters.

Three sisters and their respective families and friends -- these are the ingredients of a full, complicated, loving, bickering novel. Each chapter is told from the perspective of one of the characters and it is really interesting to look…

My favorite McMillan book since "A Day Late and a Dollar Short." I always find myself rooting for nearly all her characters, even the ones who seem unsympathetic at first.

This novel is about a grandmother who had to assume guardianship of her grandchildren after their mom had made some mistakes in her life. The book deal with the struggles the grandmother had to go through bringing up her grandchildren in…

Terry goes back to her roots and pen a creative true to life story that revolves around 3 sisters. She addresses true to live situations that sisters encounter, such as drugs, accepting a family member's sexuality, and even racism. If…

I loved this book. It was told from the viewpoint of several characters. I felt like they were family when I was through reading it.
