▶︎ROSALIND RUSSELL STARS in the 1962 Mervyn LeRoy film as a stage mother dragging her kids around during the vaudeville era and trying to cope as they get older and want to leave the act. Karl Malden and Natalie Wood co-star, Wood…

💃🏻 This must be the (1962) movie that drove the first nail in the coffin of the movie musical. The performers are talented enough, but there isn't enough plot to carry it for as long as it goes on. Except for Harvey Korman and a Jack…

For starters - I found that "Gypsy's" 143-minute running time to be almost unendurable to sit through. If a good 30 minutes had been carefully edited from this production, then I think that Gypsy would've been so much easier to…

GREAT 1993 a bit lengthy (150 minutes) film with terrific performance by Bette Midler. Interesting plot set in historical transition from vaudeville to burlesque. Also fun for me to get introduced to talented comedian actress Andrea…
