Beginning with simple and clear explanations of major concepts of physics, including gravity, electromagnetism, and relativity, this DVD illuminates one of the most revolutionary theories in physics today. The string theory, or superstring theory, proposes that the fundamental ingredients of nature are inconceivably tiny strands of energy, whose different modes of vibration underlie everything that happens in the Universe.

I cannot understand why other patrons' reviews are so enthused about this documentary. It plods along for nearly two hours without really saying much of anything. The tasteless pyrotechnics are a constantly irritating distraction that seriously detracted from the documentary's value and the core information has been dumbed down to a vacuous level. Before I watched this DVD I had never heard of Brian Greene and I hope I never hear of him again. This Nova presentation is a huge disappointment.

Definitely one of the best ever NOVA programs, both in visuals and content. Brian Greene does an excellent job of mostly simplifying the most current theories of quantum physics for "regular people".

Excellent. Well made and explained. A must watch.

A wonderful entertaining and educational introduction to string theory. It does a great job of presenting complex concepts for the general population.

I would also recommend Brian Greene's books "The Elegant Universe" and "The Fabric of the Cosmos".

Made in a way that anyone can watch this - you don't have to have background in math or physics to understand this. And it's really interesting!
