The swift and satisfying Western tales in this anthology feature a variety of protagonists who solve seemingly intractable dilemmas with their fast wits and even faster draws. Several stories are fair-playing mysteries.

A great way to get a taste of Louis L'Amour's writing with short stories including some that are also full novels. Historical depiction of the frontier west that will have you envisioning what it was like for the men and women who conquered the brutal conditions. He also ensures he portrays the native aboriginals accurately with respect for the
brave and noble people they were unlike the hollywood portrayal of cowboys and indians that had them being the evil enemy. Clear concise easy reading
