This great movie deserves more than one copy.

If I saw a "Patch of Blue" in a movie theater, I would want to stand on my chair and cheer. I only do that for a great inspirational movie, and this is certainly one of those. Director Guy Green did not direct many films, but when he did they could be a wonderful surprise. Here he has a cast of Sidney Poitier as Gordon Ralfe, an office worker who meets a blind young lady in the park on his lunch hour. They become friends and you will have to watch the movie to know any more of the plot. I think the DVD box picture would lead one to know that they become friends. Shelly Winters has a great role as the mother to the young lady, who is played by Elizabeth Hartman. All the cast are wonderful and the story will surely touch your heart. Maybe you will get up in your living room chair and cheer. it could happen to you!

PS I noticed KCLS has only one copy. I would appreciate your using the comment section on KCLS web page to ask for additional copies. Good movies shouldn't be in short supply!

A wonderful film, a must see. Very realistic film. Shelly Winters, Elizabeth Hartman & Sidney Poitier were excelent in their roles.

This joyful, beautiful film proves, IN THE EYES OF THE BLIND, ALL RACES & SKIN COLORS LOOK THE SAME, just plain & simple DARK.

Daily tormented, ridiculed & condemned to remain illiterate, deprived of the very basic human needs by her own SADISTIC family, a blind girl finds a caring soul & LEARNS about freedom, self-worth, determination & hunger for LOVE, from total stranger in the park.

Setting aside the blind girl's PRESSURE for romance & over-riding his own personal temptations, the total stranger from the park, leads the blind women to freedom & better world, away from the life-time dungeon called "family & home".

This movie was really good. I liked the fact that it seemed so realistic and I loved how the emotions of the girl who was blind were captured. Very enjoyable.
