This film is one of Studio Ghibli's earlier works, and remains one of my all-time favourite from this studio. Animation is top-notch, and the depiction of flight scenes very well done. I will watch it again down the road for sure.

Not as good as Castle in the Sky, but still good. A real thought provoker. Not recommended for young children, though.

Similar to Princess Mononoke, this film shows the conflict between the nature and humans. The nature displays its warnings to people for disrupting the circle of life, that human survival is linked to their relationship with the nature.

A masterpiece. One of Miyazaki's best.

Wonderful movie to watch for Earth Day. Earth (or someplace like it) has been polluted to the point that humanity lives in pockets and growing food and getting clean water is a struggle. Nausicaa, princess of the people in the Valley of the Wind, has a special touch with the mutant insects that live in the Toxic Jungle. She's also a pacifist who wants nothing more for than the killing to stop and for everyone to just get along and work together with nature to make things better. it's a great little story, perhaps maybe a little long for the younger crowd but it really is wonderful and leaves you with a lot to think about.

As someone who used to watch alot of anime, the only ones for which I have the time nowadays are the epic ones from the
famed Studio Ghibli. It's a good sign if when the movie is over, that I wished that the whole thing was longer so that I could stay immersed in this imaginative world. I would very much love to one day see a Ghibli film that expands upon the desolate feel that I got from the opening scene of this one.

I thought it was OK and my younger sister LOVED IT!!!! This movie really depends on your tastes. If u enjoyed Princess Mononoke (which I personally have not seen), get this. Perfect match. But if you have younger children in your family who don't like to see blood, explosions, or complicated plots, try another. I was kind of confused with all the bug-monsters and violence and poison and who's against who and what the point of the story is, but then again I've only seen it once so I haven't had time to sort everything out in my mind. But don't take my word for it. This is an artistic and creative movie, everything I'd expect from a Ghibli film!!!!!!!!

Not a bad movie - although it is amazing that Disney and some of the voice actors would ever go for this style of film

I think I read that this is actually Ghibli's first film. Not bad considering it was made in the eighties. Objectionable content: Some of the bug-monsters bleed, but it's blue.
