Wonderful wonderful book, lovely series. There are so few boy-positive adventure books that don't rely on fantasy tropes. This is a real gem. Especially good for precocious early elementary readers without the emotional maturity to take on middle school drama/war books. Nicholas is funny without being snarky, and his adventures are clever and madcap.

This book is well written and good to read aloud. The stories are simple but charming. 4-7years old
