Beautifully written, emotionally evocative. Builds slowly to an unexpected crescendo. Most definitely worth reading

A touching examination of how tragedy in young adulthood impacts a couple as they meet, wed, raise children and journey through their lives. Justin Cronin is a gifted literary author and quite different in this novel than his later work, The Passage, which is also excellent but in a totally different genre, "vampire" science fiction. I loved them both!
