Fun, light movie. Personally, i prefer W Allen movies without him acting in it.

This was a fun movie with a surprise ending that wasn't that much of a surprise. But it was light and entertaining and very Woody Allen.

A very charming, funny, and entertaining movie, with a great plot that will keep you in suspense.

Boring movie. Pretty lame acting by Scarlett Johansson as well. Don't bother.

While the acting was decent, and the cast was great I just couldn't get in to this one. Which is disappointing since I'm a pretty big Woody Allen fan. If your a fan of Allen then I would check this out, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time.

Good – Scoop (2006) 96 min. I love Woody Allen and this film won’t disappoint Allen fans. This story revolves around a young journalist (Scarlett Johannson), who receives a tip from the dead on the identity of the Tarot Card serial killer whose been stalking London. Woody Allen plays a magician and goes along in the investigation while Hugh Jackman plays the suspect. Woody Allen makes good pictures in terms of quality, pacing, and dialogue. And this one doesn’t disappoint with some memorable lines. Best line in the movie is from Woody Allen who’s asked at a party what his religious background is: “I was born into the Hebrew persuasion, but when I got older I converted to narcissism”. In another scene, Scarlett talks about exercising to which Woody Allen replies “I don't need to work out. My anxiety acts as aerobics”. At first, Scarlett Johansson’s character mimics the likes of Woody Allen himself but then settles down into her own personality. This is the second of Woody Allen’s British-themed trilogy: Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006), Cassandra’s Dream (2007) [all unrelated and available at OPL]. In 2008, Woody Allen features Spain in Vicky Cristina Barcelona and then returns to New York with Whatever Works in 2009 – hope OPL orders this latest one.

Just another excuse for Woody Allen to work with gorgeous Scarlett Johansson - for die-hard Woody Allen fans only.

Scoop is one of three 2006 films to feature both the topic of magic and magicians as main characters. The other two are The Illusionist (2006) and The Prestige (2006), the second of which also stars Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson. Mr Allen was tutored magic and illusion for the movie by Scott Penrose.
