A very fun writing book for elementary to middle school aged children. The author, Gail Carson Levine, often rewrites fairytales. She approaches her own writing style but also includes helpful advice, prompts, and tips to keep going. Her pledge to keep writing is one of my favorite bits!

Gail Carson Levine was always one of my favorite authors growing up, I cannot count the number of times I read Ella Enchanted! This non-fiction book is filled with wonderful ideas to spark imagination & inspiration for writers young & old. This book is geared towards older kids & young adults, but it really works for all ages. If you're looking to get fantastically creative, give this book a shot!

Really helpful book! I'm a beginning writer and I really loved it. It inspired me and showed me literally how to write! I highly recommend it to all who are interested in writing!

Wait. Stop. Immediately go check out Ella Enchanted, which is the greatest of Levine's books. Then read this. Because she's my favorite author. And she will be yours, soon, too.

I write, any spare moment I can. This book, written by an author whose works I have both read and loved, is one of the greatest writing helps for any aspiring author. I am seventeen and use it whenever I begin a new story (which is every other day--not exaggerating). It helps with beginnings and creating characters, and really with creating a story that others will want to read. I especially love the character questionnaire, which is as much fun as it is helpful! Levine also offers encouragement to her readers, which I find extremely needed for writers, who can often be their own worst critic!

I love this writing book. I'm a teen and I still love it though I got it as a tween. I highly suggest it. Not to brag, but I write a lot. I've written a novel, am co-founder of a writing club and am working on a lot of stuff right now. My point is that this book is not just for beginners. All tween/teen writers will love this and get things out of it every time they open it.
