This was a very interesting book for me personally,I spent the 2nd world war in England. I was eight when it started and fourteen when it ended and can still remember it very clearly. One of my cousins brought home a German wife and at first most of the family shunned her but we soon realized she was just like us a victam of circumstances,we all came to love her for herself

An interesting book about WWII. This one takes the viewpoint of many different people . The setting is in Wales and the main characters are women who have been abandoned by husbands who are believe to have joined the British Resistance. The developing relationship between the German soldiers who are in the farming valley of these women gives the reader a rare glimpse of the german soldiers thoughts and motives. A very enjoyable novel written by a young Welch author.
