The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski is turning into one of my favorite book series I've ever read. The world building is revelatory, the characters fascinating, and the overall story telling wonderful. Geralt of Rivia is a compelling and likable character, deeply flawed, but very compelling. The cast of side characters, such as Dandilion, Yennafer, and Nenneke, are all likable and complementary to the main narrative of Geralt. This book is largely a series of short stories, but they are arranged within an ongoing narrative called "The Voice of Reason" which is spread throughout the book, broken up by the shorter narratives. The individual short stories are all marvelous, but the main narrative, "The Voice of Reason," is where the book really shines. So far I've read "The Blood of Elves" and this book, "The Last Wish." I'm a fan, and can't wait to read the remainder of the series.
