A modern day immigration story of a Russian trying to make a new life in England. Very well written and interesting.

I enjoyed this novel by Rose Tremain. However she seems to confuse the country Poland with Russia. On page 26, she writes that a Russian woman states: our country is part of the EU now. This is an error - Russia is NOT part of the EU. However Poland is now in the EU. F. Psutka
