I finished it, but it was a real challenge to do so. I really like the character of Drizzt. And Gwenhyvar. And that's it. The other characters didn't inspire any interest at all. I also found the political situation vacillated between improbable and mind-numbingly boring. The stars are for the consistent action and descriptive swordplay. *Can't wait* for the next book...

So after reading The Orc King, and from my previous love of Drizzt's stories, I decided to give The Pirate King a try. I could not finish the book. I've only given up twoce on a book and this is one of them.

Again I found the characters a little far from the reality of being an adult, a process which I am suffering right now, hehe so I really could not connect with the characters very well.

**sad

Also I had recently finished the Sword of Truth Novels by Terry Goodkind, which has set a new standard for me.
