'4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days' is an award-winning film at the Cannes Film Festival about a young and naïve Romanian student who is forced to resort to a back-alley abortion and her friend who is ready to sacrifice everything for her. The film does not debate the morality of abortion however it does show the brutal and harrowing reality faced by women in such situations. A must-see film on a compelling issue which is difficult to watch and impossible to ignore regardless of which side of 'Roe vs. Wade' you are on.

I was disappointed with this film. It focused on the act of abortion, but nothing else.

A dark and disturbing film that is not for the faint of heart. No character is all good or all bad; each character commits terrible acts to survive under horrible circumstances. How would you act in a similar situation? A riveting, provocative, thought provoking, and unforgettable movie.

This is an excellent film from Romania that exposes you to a different world, and the daily challenges its citizens face. An eye opener, and a film for those who want to look beyond the comfort of their own realm. Highly recommended.

This movie is a good way to show your daughters to practice birth control or better yet don't have sex at all. The girl that was pregnant is so stupid. Her friend is the most dedicated person you could find.
This will affect all single women.
We are so lucky to live here and in this time. Even now girls are too stupid to use birth control. So beware of the consequences of being ignorant or careless. This is your life and you have to live with this. Not the guy.

A sad movie and a bit haunting. Knowng a bit about Romania's policies towards children, population growth and abortion during the communist era will provide a better context for understanding this film.

Must see - This is a very good Romanian dramitic film. I won't spoil the story and do yourself a favor - don't read about the film before watching it because the film doesn't reveal the plot until a half hour into the picture. Once the plot is unveiled, the film will take you to an unpleasent place. The main actress is incredible; the direction is real. Note the scene of the dinner party - listen to the dialogue and the main actress' expression throughout. They speak of women smoking in front of othes as a grave sign of disrespect - I haven't heard those words in years. Which is the point - the film is very real in the subject matter and the dialogue. Warning: some of the scenes are disturbing. I could make a moral comment but that would reveal the plot.
