I found it to be a pretty enjoyable movie. Both funny and touching at times. Good cast too.

Good - Promotion, The (2008) 86 min. starring Seann William Scott and John C. Reilly – They must have a name for this style of storytelling. It’s the film with the subtle acoustic score, characters staring at their counterparts for a moment before responding, if they respond at all, and stories that mimic real-life situations as best they can. “Juno”, “Office Space”, “The Good Girl”, and of course the wonderful “Election” all came to mind while I was enjoying this picture – yes, enjoying. They all have that certain “feel” and pacing. This is not the typical formulaic shlok where one character is the “bad” one and the other is the “good” and you always know the outcome. In this case, about two guys vying for the same managerial position in a grocery store, the outcome is up for grabs; a welcome experience. Both Seann (yes, with the extra “n”) and Reilly are perfect for this picture.
