A bit better than most of the other books in this series, especially with a couple of touching moments toward the end of the book.
I still feel all of these books (and the series in general) have struggled to create a strong plot with action rising to a climax. Instead, each volume feels like a series of somewhat connected events with a sudden major (and, in some cases, not so major) event with a bit of minor resolution quickly followed by the end of the story. I've started reading the last volume, and there does appear to be a major event in the offing, but it hasn't felt like any of the other books' plots have been actively leading up to this event.

Very good book. Reading the series again. You know, just to refresh your mind about what happened, blah blah blah. Read it! This series is about 2/3 of the way to be at Harry Potter level good. Those of you who don't want to read it, SCREW YOU!!!
