Eh. Not that terrible, but not that great, either. Writing is pleasant, but the main character -- not so much. Mellie (I'd hate being called that, too) is pretty unpleasant to be around. She may have plenty of reason to be so abrasive, but still, I don't think I'll seek out her company again in the next book.

If you enjoy southern mysteries with just a touch of the supernatural this book is for you...and there are 4 more books in the series after this one!

My first Karen White book. She writes with defined characters and witty dialogue. Interesting story.

Read the beginning and the end but couldn't force myself to wade through the middle.

Very slow read, dragged out way more than it had to. I liked the tone in the beginning of the book, but once you figure out the end you lose interest.

Mystery, romance, and a ghost story all rolled into one. Slightly predictable characters and plot but still an enjoyable read.
