This movie isn't as good as some folks said or as bad as others said. It's just middle of the road "Thriller" that has adequate performances in a script that could've been a lot better. The director does a good job of capturing a mood of anxiety and uncertainty. This had the feel of one of the mediocre Stephen King novels made into a television movie.

But the scene where they walk into the field with the wind blowing, and they hold hands...major eye roll. Then the first line of dialog after that scene was "The event must have ended before we went out there." Give me a break. This big build up through the whole movie and all we see is a breeze?

If they wanted to have an environmental message why did they make it so stupid? Really plants rapidly evolving their chemistry to send out toxins to humans? And the last 30 seconds was so predictable from Shyamalan. His scripts so often seem like they were written by a college freshman in a creative writing class.

Not the the 10 worst films I've seen. But not that good. I'd give it a C-

"It's. . .happening!" Alas, no one says that line. The title makes it sound like a groovy, druggy 60s films, but it's really a very glum, very dull, very inane apocalyptic sci-fi film from M. Night Sixth Sense, who has pretty much sucked since that movie. The premise isn't half-bad, but the execution is painfully tedious, poorly acted (by normally good actors), and pretentious without being in the least bit smart. It's not even bad funny. "Day of the Triffids" (the book) is a better example of nature gone wild, as is "The World Without Us."

Incredible film layers of normalcy and modernisms
the way the story evolves isn't for us to view as a spectator I think more so as if we were in the film like an experience where you are questioning your reality
Maybe it's the mood you perceive the movie thru?

This movie makes you think about the possibility that nature could turn on us. It also shows that we need to be more attentive to what we are doing to the planet.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha. After watching this movie, my friend ask me a question. She said, "how would you feel if a woman came to your home with a good bottle of wine, some slow songs on a c.d., condoms, and she wore a very short skirt to show you her nice legs?" And then after drinking some wine and listening to the slow songs, doing a very suggestive dance, and then finally sitting on your lap, only to tell you she enjoyed herself and has to leave." Wouldn't you consider her a tease? I said well, yes. She then said, "that's what this movie was. A tease!!! And a serious disapointment. Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha. Only my friend could think of such a comparison to give her opion about this dreadful movie. I must admit, while watching this movie on my HOMETHEATER, i kept hoping for something to happen to make this film interesting after a good beginning. When the movie did end all i could say was,WHAT???!!!! That's it???!!!!! What a tease!!!!! We both laughed feeling like suckers watching another M.Night movie. Unfortunately, my friend bought the movie from Duane Reade for a few dollars and she was very pissed about the purchase. She actually offered it to me and i said no. Don't get me wrong. Mr.Night has made some good films. But some of his films are, well, duds. As far as sound is concerned, i would call it all around sound with nothing much to talk about except the wind. I would not recomend buying, renting, or borrowing this corny movie. I asked my friend what would she rate it. She said zero stars. I'm giving it 1 star. For a very cool beginning, a mystery killer, massive suicides, and an ending that will leave you saying, "what a tease." A large pizza with nothing on it and water. Deliver it to M.Night.

It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth a long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box.

Weak story even for "blue sky" plot of weirdness and anything is possible. If you ran out of stuff to watch, this is a filler for your Friday night, marginally at that.
