Add a CommentLucinda Williams quickly jumped into the forefront of Alt. Country Blues music in the late 90s with her outing Car Wheels on a Gravel Road featuring guitarist Gurf Morlix. Her 2001 record followed the trend of successful guitarists with Charlie Sexton of Bob Dylan fame. Her 2003 follow-up World Without Tears launched a long time friendship and musical partnership as , Doug Pettibone first joined Lucinda for it's recording. The album has a distinctly more uptempo, rocking feel than previous efforts, introducing fuzz, delay, and distinctive tremolo to her sound - all Pettibone's contributions. Of her Pettibone recordings, this is the best of the best and my favorite record from Williams' amazing career.
