Seventeen-year-old Leslie wants a tattoo as a way of reclaiming control of herself and her body, but the eerie image she selects pulls her into the dangerous Dark Court of the faeries, where she draws on inner strength to make a horrible choice. Reprint.

HARPERCOLL

The second installment in Melissa Marr’s #1 New York Times bestselling Wicked Lovely series brings readers back to the land of faerie and delivers another stunning, high-stakes romance.

Unbeknownst to mortals, a power struggle is unfolding in a world of shadows and danger. After centuries of stability, the balance among the Faery Courts has altered, and Irial, ruler of the Dark Court, is battling to hold his rebellious and newly vulnerable fey together. If he fails, bloodshed and brutality will follow.

Seventeen-year-old Leslie knows nothing of faeries or their intrigues. When she is attracted to an eerily beautiful tattoo of eyes and wings, all she knows is that she has to have it, convinced it is a tangible symbol of changes she desperately craves for her own life.

The tattoo does bring changes—not the kind Leslie has dreamed of, but sinister, compelling changes that are more than symbolic. Those changes will bind Leslie and Irial together, drawing Leslie deeper and deeper into the faery world, unable to resist its allures, and helpless to withstand its perils. . .

this series is a little hard to read but worth the time. Original plot. Lots of twists & turns

Good follow-up/companion to Wicked Lovely. Although it doesn't actually stick with the main characters from the first book, it does a good job at fleshing out some of the fringe characters and reveals some interesting power/political elements that come into play in later books. Although not my favourite in the series, this novel does inspire feelings of empathy for Leslie and some of the other mistreated characters.

over all the this book was good, but I really didn't like the ending it ruined the rest of the book for me (I can't look at the cover without going on a rant now). I felt that Melissa Marr was running out of time and just slapped something together.

The first book Wicked Lovely is better. Not that I didn't enjoy this book, I did. It could have been a bit more exciting. The whole tattoo thing was just OK to me. Still, I would recommend this series.

I found that this book is more of a transition novel than anythig else. Instead of the suttleties of Wicked Lovely, I think the author is riding a little bit on her fanbase. There could definatly have been more character development.

I loved this book - top quality young adult fiction, which deals with some difficult issues unflinchingly. I couldn't put it down and gobbled it up in one sitting - well worth a read as the characters are fantastic and the plot full of twists and turns.

Although this is not exactly a continuation of the first book, the second book ink exchange was equally enthralling. I love the fact that they use tatoos and the importance of understanding what the meaning behind them are. This book has some serious adult type situations I wouldn't want some kids exposed to, but these things do happen and if they did happen to you I think this book would help you know you are not alone.

I read this series awhile ago and liked them, but they were kind of confusing and pretty fast-paced.

This was my favorite book in the whole series. I thought it ran along very deep lines as the main character's life was really sad. Her struggles only add to her character, and she seemed like a real heroine to me for all she had to put up with. Great read. This book is the only one in the series that I remember the best after reading the books a while ago... etc. It definately stood out and I really recommend this book and series as a whole.

This book wasn't too bad, a bit all over the place though which made it hard to follow at times. Wicked Lovely is a much better book in comparison. The ending wasn't what I expected but was still good. Worth Reading if you liked Wicked Lovely.
