What a Bummer!!
It starts out great, and even a little different. Yay! Fast paced & exciting, it really had potential, and the characters are good. (The female superman is a little rich though.) However, the plot starts to waver a little at the mid point. Toward the latter part of the film it really starts to falter; and then just completely falls apart at the end. (It's not "thought provoking" at all. It's merely hypocritical & contradictory in it's "message".) In fact, the film contradicts itself greatly toward the end, but that's pretty typical of Commercial Film writing.

This is a German–American political thriller directed by Tom Tykwer, loosely based on the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) scandal of the 1980s.
The film follows an Interpol agent and an American district attorney who investigate corruption within the IBBC, a fictional merchant bank based in Luxembourg.
It serves organized crime and corrupt governments as a banker and as an arms broker.
The bank's ruthless managers assassinate potential threats including their own employees.
It is an action-packed breath-taking hard-boiled thriller with both brainpower and firepower.
The shooting-out scene is really astounding and mind-boggling as if it actually happened in the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
When it reaches the end, you might realize that it is, in fact, a thought-provoking story.

Intelligent and somewhat demanding, but also enjoyable.

A very good film due to Clive Owen. Very interesting that it is a fictional tale based on reality.

Tedious movie mayhem. One-dimensional Naomi Watts wears the look of the perplexed chipmunk in every scene.

This film is a classic example of a project that looked good on paper but is way better on the screen. Clive Owen's driving character just gets more exciting and Naomi Watts is just awesome, not to mention so necessary from the get-go. Imagine a James Bond movie with actual fun, and excitement, action and sex appeal and you get this movie. #1 picture. see it over and over agin when you get bored with james bond.

Clive Owen is splendid in this very gripping and timely thriller. The acting as a whole is terrific, direction is so tight and the action never lets up. Good score. Believable story too...banksters, NWO, and political corruption. Reads from today's headlines. Lots of violence but that also is what goes on today. A must-see.

What a really fantastic movie and easy way to learn of the real world of global banking and finance. Although fiction, essentially close to fact, excepting the segment at the museum in NYC; a similar event took place in Europe. BCCI, Nugenhand, HSBC, the list goes on and on. Corruption at the Department of Justice, the Italian police command, and international banks; what the banker says at the end was correct, as was the Italian aviation corporation's security person's revenge action, along with the rogue Interpol agent.

This film is a classic example of a project that looked good on paper but leaves a lot to be desired once it hits theatres/DVDs. Clive Owen's perpetually desperate character just gets tiresome after a while, and Naomi Watts is just tiresome, not to mention superfluous from the get-go. Imagine a James Bond movie without the fun, action and sex appeal and you get this movie.

Decent film. A little slow at times, but still worth watching.
