What would make your Christmas perfect?

For Cassie Beaumont, it's meeting her perfect match. Cassie, at thirty-three, wants a husband and kids, and so far, nothing's worked. Not blind dates, not the Internet and certainly not leaving love to chance.

What's left? A professional matchmaker. He's Simon Dodson, and he's very choosy about the clients he takes on. Cassie finds Simon a di[fb03] cult, acerbic know-it-all, and she's astonished when he accepts her as a client.

Claiming he has her perfect mate in mind, Simon assigns her three tasks to complete before she meets him. Three tasks that are all about Christmas: being a charity bell ringer, dressing up as Santa's elf at a children's party and preparing a traditional turkey dinner for her neighbors (whom she happens to dislike). Despite a number of comical mishaps, Cassie does it all—and she's finally ready to meet her match.

But just like the perfect Christmas gift, he turns out to be a wonderful surprise!

A charming Christmas book about a woman searching for a husband and family for the perfect Christmas, and the professional matchmaker whom she develops feelings for. Loved the Christmas theme, and it was light and entertaining. Perfect for fans of the Hallmark Christmas Movies.

I must be a in a ho-hum mood because I found this one average. I think I really missed the angels which were not depicted in this book. Quick, short read in any case.

Decent little (actually quite little) romance. Predictable, of course, but romance readers don't seem to be into tension or mysteries.

Debbie Macomber writes what I call pleasant escapist fiction. She's well known for The Shop on Blossom St. series and many other titles too. This one features a young woman, Cassie, who wants to meet a suitable husband. At the recommendation of a friend, she goes to a professional matchmaker, only to find that he's the one she's really interested in. An enjoyable Christmas story.
