This book sounded so promising, but it was disappointing. The story moves very slowly, and the author whines throughout the story. I thought about quitting halfway through the book, but I was hopeful. I should have quit and moved to a better book.

I am sure the book was cathartic for the author to write, but in the end, the book was simply boring. At times, I felt like the author was trying to be heartbroken, but at other times, I felt she was bragging about her sexual exploits as a way to one up her dead husband.

This book was far too slow moving for me to get through; I gave up half way through. The beginning is interesting, but I couldn't really see where the book was going. It definitely could have been condensed to be something more interesting. It seemed to be too much thematic or philosophical thinking and not enough event content.

The author's husband died unexpectedly and quite young and left her to deal with the secret life he had been living, which she'd had no inkling about. It's an interesting read following her as she moves through sorrow and rage to a better understanding of herself and the value of her own choices.
