A great movie. If teachers (and doctors) were as caring as the boy's teacher, this world would be a better place.

Surely we all know of someone, whether it be a friend or family member, who has so much potential but just cannot seem to harness it. In this movie, an eight–year old boy named Ishaan Awasthi struggles with the demands of school and nobody seems to understand him. Unfortunately, his needs are not identified and he is sadly sent to boarding school. The movie truly arouses the emotions of its viewers and makes them feel sympathy for the poor struggling boy. However, his life begins to take a good turn when he meets Ram Shankar Nikumbh, an art teacher. This movie is the embodiment of the adage, “every child is a genius”. Rating: 4/5

So many people love this movie for its message. Overlooked in the hubbub is how tedious the film actually is, with lots of scenes of people abusing the boy long before Aamir shows up (about 45 mins into the film). So, watch it if you must -- just like everyone loved KRAMER VS KRAMER but nobody watches it anymore.

Yes, this is a very interesting movie. As a retired elementary teacher, I found it fascinating to see how dyslexia is perceived in India by the families and teachers in the cast. The little boy is super cute & Aamir Khan is a masterful sensitive teacher. For most westerners the movie is a bit too long while all along effectively exercising the audience's tear ducts. Therefore, it's kind of corny, but in good fun and well worth a watch for those interested in mainstream Indian films.

I rate this movie as 10 out of 10.
A must see. I needed a bucket to fill my emotional tears! It's many, many moons that I have chosen not to see a Hindi movie. My gut feeling led me to see this!!! Do see this movie. It is worth every second/minute of your time.

A great movie. This story brings awareness to learning disabilities and is a real joy to watch. (Aamir Khan's good looks and his classic grin doesn't hurt either.)

I could barely see the film through my waterworks, this one really touched my heart. I wish Aamir Khan would make more films like this instead of 'Dhoom 3' and 'PK.'

A very touching story about a boy with dyslexia and the teacher who helped him realize his potential, despite his challenging situation. The movie provides an interesting look into the societal issues that are prevalent in India surrounding extreme cultural expectations and values.

This is a nice movie. Easy to watch and get into. A little long and a little too much singing in this one for me. Still an excellent movie.

Very different flair to this Indian movie than we see in North America. It really hit a chord with me. Every person is special deserves to be appreciated and dealt with in ways that emphasis strengths, not weaknesses or cultural expectations. As long as you don't mind subtitles give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
