Powerful. Not only for the tragic events it depicts (Israeli Army massacres of Palestinian civilians in Khan Younis and Rafah in the 50s) but for the questions it raises about the ethics of investigation, storytelling and journalism.

Footnotes in Gaza is the first graphic novel to win the Ridenhour Prize, awarded to writers who strive to "protect the public interest, promote social justice or illuminate a more just vision of society." The book is also a finalist for the graphic novel LA Times Book Prize.
