Although the plot wasn't as interesting as the first book, this book was just as well written as the first book in the series. I couldn't put it down once I started it.

Samurai Warriors and Ninjas! If you are interested in martial arts and would like to know how teens were trained in the 1600s in Japan to become Samurai Warriors, you will love this book. It is a sequel to The Way of the Warrior and continues the story of Jack, an orphan whose father was killed by the notorious ninja, Dragon Eye. With the help of a great samurai, Jack has completed a year of samurai training, but some of his classmates and teachers resent having a foreigner learn their secrets. Jack must protect his life and his father’s rutter, a navigational log which Dragon Eye is determined to take. This is an exciting story of courage and determination. The definitions of the Japanese words at the back of the book are very helpful. Reviewed by BPL volunteer EE..

The Way of the Sword was a good read as well. It is the second book in the series. The next book is "The Way of the Dragon." The book before is called "The Way of the Warrior." In this book, Jack learns how to use a sword. The author uses excellent foreshadowing for the next book, using hints of a war stirring up... Definitely a good book in the series.

In a fight between a strong body and a strong technique, technique will prevail. In a fight between a strong technique and a strong mind, mind will prevail because it will find the weak point.
