(Don't worry, no spoilers) This is the 13th book in the series so it didn't start with a bunch of character introductions and useless stuff like that, it jumped right into the story. It was Sammy's first day of 8th grade and she was pretty pumped, until she saw her schedule, then she was pretty pissed. She had Mr. Vince, an awful teacher who she had a long and terrible history with, for half of her classes and she didn't have any classes with her three best friends. This sucked, but she couldn't get her schedule changed, so she just has to go to Mr. Vince's homeroom and tough it out. She toughs it out for about a week, until something gruesome and terrible happens, well Mr. Vince thinks it is gruesome and terrible, and Sammy just thinks it is funny. When Mr. Vince finds a death threat written on the white board, and Sammy starts laughing, she is immediately the first suspect. Luckily the new principle brushes this death threat off and told Mr. Vince to take a chill pill. But later when he finds an even more sinister death threat accompanied by a dead rat it's not so easy to brush off and the police are called in. That isn't good for Sammy because she has a history for getting into trouble and isn't often listened to by the police. Luckily she finds that the policeman on the case is Officer Borsh, who is a friend of hers, and as a side plot he is getting married and Sammy is in the wedding party. Officer Borsh knew she wouldn't do something like that so she is let of easy by him, but not everyone else lets her go so easy. A boy in her class named Lars keeps accusing her of stuff and of course Heather Acosta tries to pin everything on her. But it's not just her that's getting blamed, Sammy's good friend and the class clown Billy Pratt is also a suspect in the teachers eyes. Sammy and Billy have to do a lot to prove themselves innocent. Meanwhile Melissa is staying at Hudson's because her parents are fighting about her father's gambling the house away, and Sammy has to go and check in on her all the time. Also Casey broke up with her for no particularly good reason (though this of course has everything to do with Heather's evil scheming ways). Oh and Officer Borsh's wedding is falling apart and Sammy has been promoted to bridesmaid. So basically a lot of stuff is happening, I would tell you the rest of the stuff that happens but unfortunately I forgot.
I wouldn't say this was the best Sammy Keye's yet... but it was great and a good contribution to the amazing series!
