For a while I wondered why this was one of my favorite fairy tales. And then I realized that it is one of the few stories were the princess rescues herself, instead of a prince rescuing her.

This is a good book but the characters aren't as likable as others in this series. Still, it was a fun read and a perfect book for summer.

A great book in the elemental masters series. This seems to be the most well fleshed book so far, and I enjoyed it greatly. An untrained earth master who finds herself moving across England and into the front of the First World War. Her father blames her for her mothers' death in childbirth and his grudge twists into somthing sinister.

I enjoyed this book. I love all books by this author, and this was not a disappointment. I especially like the way in which she interposed the horror and lunacy of the first world war with the reactions of the elemental masters. the only way in which this book could have been made better would have been more details on the latter portions of Richard's actions during the end of the book, but perhaps space and word count had something to do with that.
