This is a wonderful story about an amazing grandmother, and about a Native American family. This is a deeply personal history about dealing with tragedy, about making the world safe for children, about being different, about being strong. And the origins of the word "saltypie" will resonate with everyone who is or has been a child (ie, everyone). I'm going to read everything by this author.
