A well-told autobiographical tale of one of Goodyear's first female managers: her struggles to succeed in a very male workplace where she's not particularly wanted. She finds allies as well as enemies, and works out the stresses in her young marriage to nurture a good relationship with her husband. The first half of the book focuses on her rough upbringing and family ties, while the second covers what happens as she turns to the EEOC for help, her depositions, grueling court case(s), and her success. Unequal pay is an issue Americans can get behind in ensuring a fair deal for all.
