Excellent children's book about an under-recognized "outsider" artist and how he changes his community. Definitely buying a copy for my classroom!
Themes:
-consumption and reusing/recycling
-art making and transformation
- a child who is different, and grows up to create something great
-community building
-also contains reference to Detroit economic depression & riots
