This is the first of a 7 book series which tends to get better as the series progresses. I liked the character development from one book to the next. Worth trying if you like urban or paranormal fantasy.

I've read all four (4) of this Risa Jones series. This one, the first isn't bad but woe betides readers expecting better in subsequent novels.
Rising; Devours and Hunt could have been easily condensed into 2 books.
Too much "copy and paste" to expand on the major characters. The characters are half fleshed out and thus I was unable to develop much empathy for most of them. Risa was meh, the other characters are, at best, a blur.

Just do yourself a favour, move on quickly to other better rated series.
