I liked this book. I was hoping the other books in the series would be available at TC Library.

The ending was unexpected at first, but as I thought about the encounters between the two characters (not to give anything away), it makes a lot more sense, especially after reading the first book.

I really liked the idea of all these artistic people crammed together. I want to go to 'Eureka!' A nice quick story, to read on ferry rides.

The Applewhites are an artistic family on the brink of financial ruin. To try and save the family from poverty and starvation, Randolph Applewhite dreams up a plan to change the family compound - Wit’s End - into “Eureka!” A summer camp for creative children. The whole family has to be involved – Randolph will do theatre workshops, Archie will teach Sculpture with Natural Materials, Lucille will lead the poetry workshops. There will be dance classes, painting, swimming, (in the pond with the frogs, snakes ,snapping turtles and muck!), campfires and more and E.D. will do all the scheduling! It all sounds great in theory – in practice there are artistic temperaments, headstrong campers, rampaging goats and anonymous threatening notes!
This book is lots of laughs – and a little mystery! Great read for children 8 - 12 years old, boys and girls.
