In Red Rain, Stine uses his unerring knack for creating terror to tap into some very grownup fears. Travel writer Lea Sutter finds herself on a small island off the coast of South Carolina, the wrong place at the wrong time. A merciless, unanticipated hurricane cuts a path of destruction through the island and Lea barely escapes with her life. In the storms aftermath, she discovers two orphaned boystwins. Filled with a desire to do something to help, to make something good of all she witnessed, Lea impulsively decides to adopt them. The boys, Samuel and Daniel, seem amiable and immensely grateful; Leas family back on Long Islandhusband Mark, a child psychologist, and their two children, Ira and Elenaarent quite so pleased. But even they cant anticipate the twins true natureor predict that, within a few weeks time, Mark will wind up implicated in two brutal murders, with the police narrowing in.

I really enjoyed the novel. It was very fast-paced and this might be a trademark of Stine's since he's written so much for young readers. I enjoyed the foreshadowing; anytime a character was mentioned I kept thinking, "Oh, what's going to happen to them" or "Is this where it happens". I'd love it if he put out more novels.

Love this book. It was a tiny bit predictable, but still very enjoyable. A great summer read! I would like to read more "adult" books by Stine.

I liked this book. At first it was boring. Then at about page 100, it got super creepy, and actually interesting, and went down at the end. I just really did not like the ending at all. THIS IS WHERE I WRITE: SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!

So what I disliked about the ending was this: The twins have got their powers after they died and got resurrected by the priests (even though it was too late, making them evil), but then (I forgot their names, I read it about two weeks ago) Roz's baby "learned" their powers from the twins. Even if that meant he got killed and resurrected to have these powers again, that would also mean that he would have to be brought to the island, where the priests can do the ritual.

Another confusing part was when Lea starts being interested in death rituals. It does not really make sense that after resurrection, she became obsessed about learning more about the rituals.

Good book, but a bit confusing.

It was great to find an adult novel by rl stine having grown up with his books. But it was a little predictable but his characters were fantastic. Hope he decides to bring out more

R.L. Stine for grown-ups! Very creepy and gory book. But definitely had an R.L. Stine feel to it. Those psycho twins will creep me out forever.
