An interesting pair of novella's from famed author Turtledove and his daughter Rachel. Both are set in a magical globe travelling train. The first story introduces us to Javan, a 3rd class passenger hoping to make his fortune on the train. It is here we get to see the behind the curtain workings of the train, and glimpses of the world outside the trains windows. In the second story, Eli is governess to the children of a rich Baroness, and becomes involved in an intrigue familiar to viewers of Game of Thrones. In both novella's we are only given tantalizing glimpses into this strange new world and how it works, but the characters are likeable and as a reader I am left with wanting more. That is always a good sign in a book.
