A far cry from Danielle Steel's usual books, "A Gift of Hope," is a heartrending account of Steel's attempt to help the homeless. She does this following the death of her son, Nick, and it is indeed a worthwhile effort. Many of us have ideas about the homeless ranging from "they are dirty and lazy" to "they are violent." Steel's account goes a long way in dispelling these myths. Her line, "Need is acute in the streets greed is rare," sums it up nicely.

An easy read. This book, like her fiction was very repetitive. But I applaud her for what she has done. She gave from the heart. She gave through body and soul. It was a great financial expense that I can't imagine. But by reading all her books I feel like I can be a part of that too.

it is not a bad book but neither a good one. Steel should better start writing the old way. This the second book which she has messed up. Steel be your self . I am sure you can do it.

A different type of book from Danielle Steel. It was a very quick read but not written very well. Not sure what it was supposed to be about; homelessness or how much stuff she gave away. I do give her credit for spending so much of her own money. Not sure I would recommend.
