This is a great book to just jump into if you've just hatched a little crafty biz idea or have been thinking about getting started for a while. The range of topics covers the fun stuff like branding, photography, creating and craft shows, as well as the necessary stuff like tax, site/blog maintenance and keeping up with your competitors. Although this is an American publication, most sections apply to Canada as well, specifically relating to selling and marketing online. Most sections also don't have to relate solely to crafting; for example, if you provide a service instead of a product, much of it is relevant. All contributors, sites mentioned, featured makers and others are listed at the back for easy reference. Oh, and the folk-y, hand-drawn graphic design and colour scheme carried through fits the itty-bitty-home-biz, outside-the-mainstream audience target with the aesthetic of best-selling handmade items in mind.
