Useful maybe for a quick introduction to CS6, but not much more.

The book quickly summarizes each app's main tools and features but doesn't guide the reader through a tutorial project, the style that successful software instruction usually takes. And the use of B&W screenshots in a book about graphics apps, especially muddy-looking low-res images like these, is particularly poor.

Ultimately I felt the book was not worthwhile, even at the public library "price." There are too many superior options: the Digital Classroom and Classroom in a Book series are of a higher standard than this, and there are plentiful online tutorials on Adobe's site, graphics blogs, YouTube and elsewhere.
