Baker & Taylor
A friend and advisor to the musician during his lifetime paints a fascinating portrait of one of the great gods of rock and roll that weaves together the writings of Hendrix to present a continuous narrative of the artist's life.

McMillan Palgrave

Jimi Hendrix in his own words... An intimate, posthumous memoir from one of the great gods of rock and roll.

It took just four years in the spotlight for Jimi Hendrix to become an international cultural icon. The sheer impact and originality of his music and his unique mastery of the guitar placed him forever amongst musical giants. But what of the man behind the public image? Modest and intensely private by nature, Jimi was shrouded in intrigue from the moment he first came into the public eye, and the mystery has only grown with time.

Much has been written about him by experts, fans, and critics, some of it true and some of it not. He did, however, leave his own account of himself, locked away like a Chinese puzzle in his many interviews, lyrics, writings, poems, diaries, and even stage raps. Starting at Zero brings all these elements together in narrative form. The result is an intimate, funny, and poetic memoir-one that tells, for the first time, Jimi's own story as only he could tell it.

Baker
& Taylor

Weaves together the rock artist's own words from interviews, lyrics, and scraps of miscellaneous writings to form a continuous narrative of Hendrix's life from birth to his final four years.

jimi had an unfortunate way with his banter from the stage..especially, his last performance. on the bright side, recently heard their version of GLORIA. real good, sounds like WILD THING.

If you are a fan of jimi hendrix this is well worth getting hold of as it is gathered together from hiss own writings/musings/notes and ramblings. A very spiritual person and his words reflect that in a way that the other books I've read about him does not convey that side or importance of his character.
