This is one of the really good books, though it has not been made into a movie, I would say this is as good as or better than The Maze Runner.

Ever since the first teenager walked the earth, adults have been the enemy. Now it's even more literally true, when a strange virus has turned everyone over sixteen into mindless cannibal monsters, leaving kids and young teenagers to fend for themselves in an increasingly desperate fight. It's not for the faint of stomach, but for those that like their zombie movies both gory and thought-provoking. Read the whole series.

This is such an amazing book. The message is really strong. I love how it's not about zombie-slaying, but more about the children's will to survive. There are action scenes, which is really the best part of the book, and I like how there is tons of action although it's not the novel version of a zombie game. What I'm trying to say is that this is an incredible book READ IT NOW.

The Enemy – my first Zombie ‘similar to’ book. This book came highly recommended by my teenage son. It was fast paced, very well done with lots of twists and turns, and at times the author really had you sitting on the edge of your seat so-to-speak. For a taste of what you will read, Google < > and open ‘The Enemy/The Dead – Trailer – You Tube.’ Also see on You Tube - The Enemy by Charlie Higson – ZOMBIES. The books in the series are: ‘The Enemy’ (2009), ‘The Dead’ (2010), ‘The Fear’ (2011), ‘The Sacrifice’ (2012), ‘The Fallen’ (2013), and I believe yet to be published ‘The Hidden’ (2014), and then perhaps the final book in the series ‘The End’ (2015). Curiously, this book really didn't read like fiction, as so many people today in the English-speaking world appear to be zombie-like?

This is a pretty standard young adult zombie novel. The twist is that all of the zombies are adults, so the book is a zombie version of Michael Grant's "Gone" series. Some of the descriptions are fairly gruesome.

When a worldwide epidemic kills many adults and leaves the rest in a zombielike state, everyone below the epidemic's cutoff age (16 in the US edition, 14 in the UK edition) Form bands and try to survive. Arran leads a group of kids who live inside a fortified Waitrose supermarket, but the adults are getting smarter and more and more of the kids are being picked off one by one. Then, Jester arrives at the Waitrose. He claims that there is a large group of kids in Buckinham Palace. Meanwhile, Small Sam- assumed to be dead after being kidnapped by adults- makes his way back the Waitrose. The Waitrose Group meets another group of kids along the way to the palace, who join them. Following the Waitrose group’s quest to get to Buckingham Palace and Small Sam’s attempt to find them, The Enemy is an interesting novel. It is followed by The Dead (a prequel set a year before), The Fear (starting just before the Dead ends) and The Sacrifice (set after the Enemy). There are another 3 planned books in the series.
