A great disappointment! The giveaway was the boost on the back cover by assorted unknowns who must have been well paid for their enthusiasm. This is unreadable twaddle in a style reminiscent of a very poorly crafted fairy tale. No scholarship here or much of anything but verbiage. Nothing at all like the great historian Hobsbawm or contemporary chronicler Judt. Deepest sympathies to students of this old fraud, people who paid real money for his scholastic wisdom. They were robbed.
