Corinna Chapman, talented baker and reluctant investigator, is trying very hard to do nothing at all on her holidays. Her gorgeous Daniel is only intermittently at her side (he's roaming the streets tracking down a multi-thousand dollar corporate theft). Jason, her baking offsider, has gone off to learn how to surf. And Kylie and Goss are fulfilling their lives' ambition auditioning for a soapie. It should be a time of quiet reflection for Corinna but quiet reflection doesn't seem to suit her - she's bored.

Scenting a whiff of danger, Corinna accepts an offer from a caterer friend to do the baking for the film set of a new soap called 'Kiss the Bride'. The soapie in which Kylie and Goss have parts. Twists and turns and complications that could only happen to Corinna ensue involving, bizarrely, nursery rhymes and a tiger called Tabitha.

While on the other side of town, a young woman is being unmercifully bullied by her corporate employers - employers who spend a lot of time cooking the books. The 6th in the Corinna Chapman series.

A nice little cozy (dull is the key word here), with way to much chatter, and pleasant but not very interesting characters. It drags on until the book is nearly done before you realize it is a mystery. For me it was disappointing. Her Phryne Fisher series is TERRIFIC. On KLRU Q on PBS on Monday nights (starting again in October) they are showing the Phryne Fisher Murder Mysteries. This TV series is DYNOMITE !! And I look forward to it every week.

I have lists of words to Google from Kerry Greenwood's books.
These Corrina books may seem simple, but there is a wealth of knowledge within them, Aussie jargon aside.

Not a book to be reading if you're trying to diet! The descriptions of food are luscious. The mystery is ok.

If you haven't read any Corinna Chapman mysteries, it's best to start at the beginning, in order to meet the cast of peculiar and (mainly) beguiling residents of Insula, a fictitious apartment building in Melbourne. Did I mention that it's set in Australia?

I love Kerry Greenwood, and both her series for Correina Chapman and Phryne Fisher BUT - this book is, busy is the only word I could use, too many subplots going on, feels like you're trying to concerntrate on 3 books at once and I couldn't so I skimmed the Filming plot and read the others. The characters are all wonderful, but this was too much ditz and not enoough flow. Wouldn't buy it, and that's sad, as I have all her other books!
