I'm all for mushy romance but it was more predictable then I thought possible, but had this air of somehow not being predictable. NO idea how this has sequels, I'm just glad I finished and I'm done with it.

The book is pretty much a mushy HEA. It didn't move me to tears but it did make me laugh. I'd say the book was pretty predictable no real plot twist. Usually books drag in the beginning but, this book was actually full of life and went downhill.

After a wham-bang beginning, this book rapidly got dull. Halfway through, I was only reading about every third page, because I got so tired of gorgeous, tall, volleyball-playing Charley (who of course, doesn't realize she's a knock-out), and Thad, the hunky, surfer coulda-been-an-Abercrombie model, and their endless, overwhelming love for each other, and how perfect they each think the other is. Enough already. Way too much time spent on annoying, uninteresting insta-love, and not nearly enough time spent on what could have been an interesting story. The only part I enjoyed was the random appearance of various animals on the island. I wish I hadn't wasted my time.

Okay it really was not that bad. I thought it was worth reading. Not the best book I've ever read, but it simply does not deserve a long, angry rant. The storyline was at least better than some sappy, predictable love story about two cancer patients...

The first thing that comes to mind when I think about this book is: Wow, how in the world could you mess up such an awesome concept so much? This book has an amazing premise, but Matson kind of screwed this one up big time. I mean, seriously. Charley, ( with an e-y, as Thad pointed out so many freaking times) is tall and hideous. In her mind. In Thad's mind she's the most beautiful thing to walk the surface of NIL. Ummm….sure. Whatever. And then the INSTA-LOVE! Oh my gosh. Matson took this to a whole new level of awful. I mean come on, from the time their eyes meet, they're in love. And want to spend every. single. freaking. moment. with each other. Oh, and the ending. I'm not sure if it was supposed to make me cry or laugh or what. *sarcastic voice* "I was completely overcome with emotion." Uh, huh. The only reason I completed this book was that I hate to leave things unfinished- but trust me, it was a bad, bad choice. I knew from about ten pages in that this was going to be a long read, but if I had the choice, I would definitely skip this one. Rating: 0.5 stars And molls_02, TFIOS was a million times better than NIL.
